SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Jacob Scott Botterbush of Hardin, who
4passed away on February 11, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jacob Botterbush was born in Alton on April 3,
61987; he earned the rank of Eagle Scout on March 14, 2002; he
7graduated from Alton High School in 2006; he married Elizabeth
8Watters on October 16, 2010; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jacob Botterbush always worked and sometimes
10worked multiple jobs to support his family; he had been
11employed at Cargill Packaging, Pluesters Meat Market, Subway
12in Hardin, Great Rivers Land Trust, and as a dispatcher at the
13Calhoun County Sheriff's Department; he taught swimming to
14many young children at the YWCA and River Aire Swim Club; he
15also spent many summers as a life guard at local swimming
16pools; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jacob Botterbush enjoyed hunting, fishing, and
18spending time with his family; he never knew a stranger and
19always enjoyed talking to anyone; he had a big heart and was
20always willing to help where he could; he had a multitude of
21friends and family and loved them all; he will be especially
22remembered for his smile; and

1    WHEREAS, Jacob Botterbush was preceded in death by his
2maternal grandmother, Margaret (Hopper) Dunnagan; his paternal
3grandfather, Wilmer Botterbush; his paternal grandmother,
4Dorothy (Arms) Botterbush; his uncle, Ray Botterbush; his
5paternal grandfather-in-law, Albert Watters; his maternal
6grandfather-in-law, Stephen Tepen; his paternal
7step-grandfather, Arthur Pence; his infant sister-in-law,
8Jamie Watters; and his niece, Monroe Klocke; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jacob Botterbush is survived by his wife,
10Elizabeth; his daughter, Libby; his parents, Tim and Karen
11Botterbush; his brother, Zachary (Bre) Botterbush; his
12maternal grandfather, David Dunnagan; his father and
13mother-in-law, Rick and Becky Watters; his four
14sisters-in-law, Tracy (Neil) Rose, Casey (Jerry) Klocke,
15Angela Watters, and Kristy (Brandon) Watters; and his nieces
16and nephews, Adeline, Keaton, Carter, Cooper, Harper, Sloane,
17Camden, Kianna, and Reigh; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
20Jacob Scott Botterbush and extend our sincere condolences to
21his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
