SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Kerry J. Dixon of Hampton, who passed
4away on February 22, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kerry Dixon was born in Moline on July 23, 1963;
6he served in the U.S. Army and married Debora K. Sellmann in
7Davenport, Iowa in 1988; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Kerry Dixon was employed for 25 years at Arconic
9in Riverside, Iowa and was a member of United Steel Workers
10Local 105 in Bettendorf, Iowa; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Kerry Dixon enjoyed riding his Harley, playing
12video games, listening to music, and watching football,
13especially the Chicago Bears; his favorite times were those
14spent with his family; he was a loving and devoted husband,
15father, and grandfather; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Kerry Dixon was preceded in death by his maternal
17grandmother, Lorene Wheeler; his mother, Opal E. Wheeler; and
18his uncles, Johnny and Jerry Wheeler; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Kerry Dixon is survived by his wife, Debora; his
20daughters, Elizabeth (Christopher) DeHaven and Sheena Elliott;

1his grandchildren, Avalene DeHaven, Kaylee York, Jaylin York,
2Alexa York, and Alex York; his great-granddaughter, Lorelei
3Kespohl; his brothers, Kelly (Cynthia) Dixon, William (Jamie)
4McLaughlin, and Jimmy Molina; his aunts, Linda Sheppard and
5Sharon (Del) Turnbough; his mother-in-law, Barbara Sellmann;
6his father-in-law, Gordon Sellmann; his sisters-in-law, Shari
7Swann, Connie Harris, and Tammy (Terry) Nissan; and many
8nieces, nephews, and additional family members; therefore, be
9it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Kerry J. Dixon and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Kerry Dixon as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
