SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Richard A. Wells of Moline, who passed
4away on February 27, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Wells was born to Arthur and Lola
6(Reagan) Wells in Moline on May 30, 1928; he served as a
7sergeant in the U.S. Marines from 1950 to 1952; he married
8Joyce D. DeCausmaker at Trinity Episcopal Church in Rock
9Island on May 9, 1953, and she preceded him in death on
10December 10, 2014; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Richard Wells worked as a letter carrier with the
12U.S. Postal Service for over 37 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Richard Wells enjoyed fishing with his buddies,
14Big Jim, Barry, and Mike, and his son-in-law, David; he also
15enjoyed golfing; he cherished spending time with his family;
16he flew an American flag at his house every morning and kept
17his yard in immaculate shape; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Richard Wells was preceded in death by his wife
19of 61 years, Joyce; his parents; and his sister, Shirley
20Peterson; and

1    WHEREAS, Richard Wells is survived by his children, Pam
2(David) Ross and K. Arthur Wells; his grandchildren, Michael
3(Kayla) Ross, Kyle (fiancé Leah) Ross, Ingrid (fiancé Matt)
4Wells, and Dr. Markus Wells; and his great-grandchild, Ilka
5Marie Ross; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Richard A. Wells and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Richard Wells as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
