SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Scott Gregory of Manito, who passed
4away on February 27, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Scott Gregory was born in Pekin to Ronald "Ron"
6and Nancy (Weithe) Gregory on January 22, 1959; he married
7Renee Hayn in Wichita, Kansas on June 9, 1984; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Scott Gregory worked as a concrete finisher and
9then as a field representative for Local #18; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Scott Gregory took great pride in helping the
11community; he coached wrestling and football and was a mentor
12to many; he was a member of the River City Blues Society in
13Peoria for many years and volunteered at Illinois Central
14College, helping students enter the trades program; he loved
15listening to music, riding motorcycles, and playing the
16lottery; he also enjoyed cooking for his catering business,
17Sammy Lynn Smokehouse; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Scott Gregory was preceded in death by his
19father, Ron Gregory, and his nephew, Wesley Kellerstrass; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Scott Gregory is survived by his wife, Renee; his

1mother, Nancy Burlingame; his stepmother, Paula Gregory; his
2children, Chris Johnson, Scotty (Nicole) Gregory, Stephanie
3(Kyle) Wolfe, and Samantha Gregory; seven grandchildren and
4eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Teresa (Pat)
5Kellerstrass; his half siblings, Niki (Rolly) Knobloch and
6Matt (Lisa) Gregory; and many nieces and nephews; therefore,
7be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Scott Gregory and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Scott Gregory as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
