SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Roy George Hlavacek, who passed away
4on August 29, 2021 at the age of 83; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roy Hlavacek was born to George and Lillian
6Hlavacek on September 17, 1937; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Roy Hlavacek earned his bachelor's degree in
8Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at
9Urbana-Champaign in 1960 and his MBA from the University of
10Chicago in 1969; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Roy Hlavacek was a food industry engineer and
12communications professional; he worked as a project engineer
13at Swift Foods, a publisher at Putnam Publishing and Delta
14Communications, and an executive at the Institute of Food
15Technologists; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Roy Hlavacek was an integral part of the Oak Park
17philanthropic community; he established a commission to
18support the preservation of Frank Lloyd Wright's local
19architecture and was a co-founder of the Ernest Hemingway
20Foundation of Oak Park; and

1    WHEREAS, At the time of his death, Roy Hlavacek was
2survived by his wife, Nancy (Wroblaski) Hlavacek; his
3children, Carrie (Dustin) Felix and Alex (Karen) Hlavacek; and
4his granddaughter, Hanna Hlavacek; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Roy George Hlavacek and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Roy Hlavacek as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
