SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Judith "Judie" Chaboude of Saint
4Charles, Missouri on December 27, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Judie Chaboude was born in Cape Girardeau,
6Missouri to Hazel Marie Perry and Lewis Leonard Wood on
7November 10, 1941; she attended Granite City High School and
8married Fred Willis; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Judie Chaboude operated a birthday and wedding
10cake business, Judie's Cakes, in Granite City for over 20
11years; she also was partner and bookkeeper for her husband's
12business, Cee's Construction Company, until retiring in 2004;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Judie Chaboude was active in the Scottish
15community and was the founder and president of the Scottish
16Tartan Day festival and parade in St. Charles, Missouri for
17several years; she served as the historian for the St. Andrew
18Society from 1998 to 2004 and as ceremony organizer in the
19Military Order of the Knights Templar of Jerusalem starting in
201998; she also was active in the Christmas Traditions
21celebrations on Main Street in St. Charles, caroling and
22organizing the Progressive Dinners; and

1    WHEREAS, Judie Chaboude's hobbies were sewing, painting,
2baking, and jigsaw puzzles; she was happiest when her children
3would gather to laugh, sing, and play musical instruments; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Judie Chaboude was reunited with a high school
5classmate and friend, Geoffrey Glen Chaboude, at a high school
6class reunion; they married in October of 1991 and were
7married for 30 years; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Judie Chaboude was preceded in death by her
9parents and her first husband of over 30 years, Fred Willis;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Judie Chaboude was mother to Tamera (Reda)
12Iskarous, Brian Fred (Tracy) Willis, and Michelle Rae (Gary)
13Ingrham; grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of ten; and
14sister to John (Sue) Perry and Linda "Jodie" Wood; therefore,
15be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Judith "Judie" Chaboude and extend our sincere condolences to
19her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
