SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Thomas H. "Tom" Duckett of Colona, who
4passed away on June 13, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tom Duckett was born to Ray and Cornelia (Stapf)
6Duckett in Moline on December 14, 1932; he graduated from
7Moline High School in 1951; he served in the U.S. Navy during
8the Korean Conflict, and he was honorably discharged in 1956;
9he attended college on the G.I. Bill; he was married to
10Clevelyn Rigdon from 1957 to 1963; he later married Luanne
11Ruth Paquette in 1965, and she preceded him in death in
12September 2021; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Tom Duckett formerly worked at Eagle Signal, the
14East Moline Works of International Harvester, the Bendix
15Corporation, Quad City Die Casting, and Aramark, from which he
16retired as area operations engineer after 28 years of service
17in 1998; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Tom Duckett deeply loved his family; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Tom Duckett was preceded in death by his wife,
20Luanne; his parents; and his siblings, Ethyl Hill, Arlyne
21Sheil, and Robert Duckett; and

1    WHEREAS, Tom Duckett is survived by his sons, Terrence
2Duckett and G. Scott (Andrea) Duckett, and his grandchildren,
3Alyssa Duckett, Shaun Duckett, and Alayna Duckett; therefore,
4be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Thomas H. "Tom" Duckett and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Tom Duckett as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
