2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Dr. Woodbridge C. "Woody" Brown of |
4 | | East Moline, who passed away on August 21, 2022; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Woody Brown was born to Elmer and Emma (Ashford) |
6 | | Brown in Mt. Morris, Michigan on September 15, 1929; he |
7 | | obtained his bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering |
8 | | from Iowa State University in 1954; he received his master's |
9 | | degree in Research and Development Management from Florida |
10 | | State University; he earned his doctorate in Occupational |
11 | | Education from North Carolina State University; he served in |
12 | | the U.S. Army; he married LaVera "Joy" Hollenbeck, and she |
13 | | preceded him in death in 1997; he then married Daphne Frane in |
14 | | East Moline on May 1, 1999; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Woody Brown was employed by General Dynamics and |
16 | | NASA at the Space Center in Florida, Appalachian State |
17 | | University, and the North Carolina College System; he retired |
18 | | from the University of Central Missouri at Warrensburg, |
19 | | Missouri; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Woody Brown was a member of Iota Lambda Sigma and |
21 | | the Kansas City Society of Manufacturing Engineers, where he |
22 | | served as chairman in 1984; and
