AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1358

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1358, AS AMENDED,
3with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment
4No. 1 on page 17, immediately below line 17, by inserting the
5following:
 
6    "Section 83. The Emergency Telephone System Act is amended
7by changing Section 3 as follows:
 
8    (50 ILCS 750/3)  (from Ch. 134, par. 33)
9    (Text of Section before amendment by P.A. 103-366)
10    (Section scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2025)
11    Sec. 3. (a) By July 1, 2017, every local public agency
12shall be within the jurisdiction of a 9-1-1 system.
13    (b) Within 18 months of the awarding of a contract to a
14vendor certified under Section 13-900 of the Public Utilities
15Act to provide Next Generation 9-1-1 service, every 9-1-1
16system in Illinois, except in a municipality with a population

1over 500,000, shall provide Next Generation 9-1-1 service. A
2municipality with a population over 500,000 shall provide Next
3Generation 9-1-1 service by January 1, 2026 December 31, 2023.
4    (c) Nothing in this Act shall be construed to prohibit or
5discourage in any way the formation of multijurisdictional or
6regional systems, and any system established pursuant to this
7Act may include the territory of more than one public agency or
8may include a segment of the territory of a public agency.
