AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1672

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1672 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Adjutant General, on behalf of the State 
5of Illinois and the Department of Military Affairs, is 
6authorized to convey by Quitclaim Deed all right, title, and 
7interest of the State of Illinois and the Department of 
8Military Affairs in and to the real estate described in 
9Section 10 to the City of West Frankfort, subject to the 
10conditions and restriction described in Section 15.
 
11    Section 10. The Adjutant General is authorized to convey 
12the following described real property: 
 
13    West Frankfort Armory:
 
14    The East 290 feet of a tract of land in the Northeast

1    quarter of the Southwest quarter of Section 24, Township 7 
2    South, Range 2 East of the Third Principal Meridian, same 
3    being situated in the County of Franklin and State of 
4    Illinois, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at 
5    the Southeast corner of the said Northeast quarter of the 
6    Southwest quarter and running thence North 902 feet, more 
7    or less to the South line of Main Street in the City of 
8    West Frankfort, thence West 470.61 feet for a point of 
9    beginning: thence South 450 feet, thence East to the West 
10    line of Taft Street; thence North along the West line of 
11    Taft Street 450 feet to the South line of Main Street; 
12    thence West along the South line of said Main Street to the 
13    point of beginning, excepting the coal, oil, gas and other 
14    minerals underlying the same, in Franklin County, 
15    Illinois.
 
 
16    Section 15. The Adjutant General shall not convey the real 
17property described in Section 10 to the City of West Frankfort 
18until the Adjutant General determines that the property is no 
19longer required for military purposes. Conveyance of the above 
20real property will be in an "as is" condition, and the City of 
21West Frankfort will pay all required costs and expenses for 
22the conveyance, as determined by the Adjutant General. The 
23Quitclaim Deed shall state on its face and be subject to the 
24condition that if the property is no longer used for public

1purpose, then title shall revert without further action to the 
2State of Illinois.
 
3    Section 20. The Adjutant General shall obtain a certified 
4copy of this Act from the Secretary of State within 60 days 
5after its effective date and, upon the conveyance of the real 
6estate described in Section 10 being made, shall cause the 
7certified copy of this Act to be recorded in the office of the 
8Recorder of Franklin County, Illinois.
 
9    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
10becoming law.".
