AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2526




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2526 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:


 
 
4    "Section 5. The State Finance Act is amended  by adding 
5Sections 5.992 and 6z-139 as follows:
 
6    (30 ILCS 105/5.992 new)
7    Sec. 5.992. The Opioid Antagonist Bulk Purchase Fund.
 
8    (30 ILCS 105/6z-139 new)
9    Sec. 6z-139. The Opioid Antagonist Bulk Purchase Fund.
10    (a) The Opioid Antagonist Bulk Purchase Fund is created as 
11a special fund in the State treasury. The Fund may receive 
12gifts, grants, bequests, donations, and moneys from any other 
13lawful source, public or private. Any interest earned on 
14moneys in the Fund shall be deposited into the Fund.
15    (b) Subject to appropriation, moneys in the Opioid

1Antagonist Bulk Purchase Fund shall be used by the Department 
2of Human Services for bulk purchasing of opioid antagonists 
3and for the making of grants for the distribution of opioid 
4antagonists.
5    (c) The Department of Human Services shall adopt rules 
6establishing requirements for the distribution of grant moneys 
7and the determination of which persons or entities are 
8eligible for and most in need of those grants, and it may adopt 
9any other rules necessary to implement this Section and 
10administer the Fund. 
  
 
11    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
12becoming law.".
