| 1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 5-2-20 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (65 ILCS 5/5-2-20 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 5-2-20. Town of Normal; officers. For the Town of |
| 8 | | Normal, a president must be elected every 4 years at the |
| 9 | | general municipal election with other officers to be elected |
| 10 | | or appointed as set forth by ordinance of the corporate |
| 11 | | authorities. Each officer shall continue to hold office until |
| 12 | | the officer's successor is selected and qualified. Each |
| 13 | | vacancy must be filled under Section 3.1-10-50.

| 14 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 15 | | becoming law. |
