1 | | AN ACT concerning State government. |
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Power Agency Act is amended by |
5 | | adding Section 1-131 as follows: |
6 | | (20 ILCS 3855/1-131 new) |
7 | | Sec. 1-131. Prohibition on procurement of solar panels not |
8 | | manufactured in North America. No later than 180 days after |
9 | | the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 103rd General |
10 | | Assembly, the Illinois Commerce Commission, in consultation |
11 | | with the Agency, shall develop standards and guidelines to |
12 | | prohibit any Illinois ratepayer funds, as collected under |
13 | | Section 16-108 of the Public Utilities Act, from being used by |
14 | | the Agency for the procurement of solar panels that are not |
15 | | manufactured or assembled by a company located in North |
16 | | America under the Agency's long-term renewable resources |
17 | | procurement plan. |
