HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Mark and Rose Froseth for
4being named 2023 Gurnee Days Honorees; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rose Froseth has been a Gurnee resident since
61998, and Mark Froseth has been a Gurnee resident since 2008;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mark and Rose Froseth were married in 2009; they
9have six children, Stacy Froseth, Chris (Audrey) Froseth,
10Jenna (Shawn Schlosser) Sanders, Krista (Toya Crow) Sanders,
11Jason (Perla Orozco) Sanders, and Haley Sanders, and two
12grandchildren, Joel and Mila; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mark and Rose Froseth appreciate the ability to
14serve together and are passionate about volunteering with
15various organizations; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Many of their volunteer opportunities have
17resulted from Mark and Rose Froseth's connection with their
18church community of Joy! Lutheran Church (Joy!) in Gurnee; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Rose Froseth has been a member of Joy! since 1996
20and Mark Froseth has been a member since 2008; and

1    WHEREAS, From 2011 to 2018, Mark and Rose Froseth joined
2members of Joy! to serve and eventually lead groups with
3Habitat for Humanity in El Salvador; and
 
4    WHEREAS, In 2014, Mark and Rose Froseth began doing
5monthly food deliveries from the COOL Food Pantry to those who
6are not able to get to the food pantry on their own; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Starting in 2015, Mark and Rose Froseth, along
8with their church small group Faith In Action, partnered with
9PADS of Lake County to start Housing First/Ten To End, which is
10a privately funded concept that puts people experiencing
11chronic homelessness directly into housing with case worker
12support; and
 
13    WHEREAS, In 2018, Mark and Rose Froseth began volunteering
14with Love INC's New Hope Ministry, which provides dinner and
15fellowship along with multiple life skills classes; and
 
16    WHEREAS, From 2019 to 2021, Mark and Rose Froseth led a
17Joy! vision team focusing on inclusivity; this team helped
18transition Joy! into a community that overtly welcomes and
19includes people who identify as LGBTQIA+; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Starting in 2022, Mark and Rose Froseth began

1facilitating anti-racism studies at Joy!; and
 
2    WHEREAS, The Honoree Reception is presented by the Village
3of Gurnee and the Gurnee Park District to individuals who have
4given selfless service to the community; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark and Rose Froseth exemplify this selfless
6service; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we congratulate Mark and Rose Froseth for being named the 2023
10Gurnee Days Honorees; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
12presented to Mark and Rose Froseth as a symbol of our esteem
13and respect.
