2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Brock | ||||||
4 | Tumbleson, a beloved member of the Kewanee community, who | ||||||
5 | departed from this world on May 3, 2024, leaving behind a | ||||||
6 | legacy of service, love, and dedication; and | ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Brock Tumbleson was born in Kewanee on August 18, | ||||||
8 | 1956 and grew up on the family farm in Neponset, which | ||||||
9 | instilled in him a deep connection to his roots; and | ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Brock Tumbleson graduated with the class of 1974 | ||||||
11 | at Western High School and pursued higher education at Black | ||||||
12 | Hawk East and Southern Illinois University, where he graduated | ||||||
13 | magna cum laude with a degree in mortuary science in 1976; and | ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Brock Tumbleson dedicated over four decades of | ||||||
15 | his life to serving the community through his work at what was | ||||||
16 | then the Schueneman & Tumbleson Funeral Home, initially | ||||||
17 | alongside "Bud" Schueneman and later as a co-owner with Mark, | ||||||
18 | and left an indelible mark on the lives of countless families; | ||||||
19 | and | ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Brock Tumbleson found lifelong love with his high | ||||||
21 | school sweetheart, Molly Madsen, whom he married on August 28, |

1 | 1976, and they raised two sons, Nathaniel and Jacob, and a | ||||||
2 | daughter, Maggie, fostering a legacy of love and devotion; and | ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Brock Tumbleson was a pillar of the community and | ||||||
4 | served in various capacities, including as an elder, Sunday | ||||||
5 | school teacher, worship leader, and choir director at First | ||||||
6 | Congregational Church SBC in Kewanee, dedicating over five | ||||||
7 | decades to church music ministry and spreading joy through his | ||||||
8 | musical talents; and | ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Brock Tumbleson exemplified the spirit of | ||||||
10 | service, having served as president of the Kewanee Kiwanis | ||||||
11 | Club, president of the Kewanee area United Way, and president | ||||||
12 | of the Ambassadors Club, and he contributed his leadership to | ||||||
13 | numerous other organizations aimed at the betterment of | ||||||
14 | Kewanee and its surrounding areas; and | ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Brock Tumbleson's passion for history, antiques, | ||||||
16 | and community festivities enriched the lives of those around | ||||||
17 | him, fostering a sense of camaraderie and joy that will be | ||||||
18 | fondly remembered; and | ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Brock Tumbleson is survived by his wife, Molly; | ||||||
20 | his children, Nathaniel (Jodi), Jacob, and Maggie (Chad); and | ||||||
21 | his grandchildren, Lexi, Lucas, Myles, Grant, Elliana, Kyle, | ||||||
22 | and Ally, who will carry forward his memory with love and |

2 | WHEREAS, Brock Tumbleson's unwavering faith, love for his | ||||||
3 | family, and dedication to his friends left an indelible mark | ||||||
4 | on all who had the privilege of knowing him; he will especially | ||||||
5 | be remembered for his kindness and his commitment to making | ||||||
6 | the world a better place; therefore, be it | ||||||
7 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
8 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
9 | we mourn the passing of Brock Tumbleson and extend our sincere | ||||||
10 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
11 | him; and be it further | ||||||
12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
13 | presented to the family of Brock Tumbleson as an expression of | ||||||
14 | our deepest sympathy. |
