HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Amboy-LaMoille-Ohio
4Clippers football team on its undefeated season and 2023
5Illinois 8-Man Football Association (I8FA) state championship
6victory; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The I8FA state championship game was hosted at
8Monmouth College in April Zorn Memorial Stadium in Monmouth on
9November 17, 2023; and
 
10    WHEREAS, The football season was filled with hard fought
11wins and great coaching, leading to Amboy High School's first
12state championship since 1984; and
 
13    WHEREAS, The Clippers football team consists of seniors
14Troy Anderson, Brennan Blaine, Trey Payne, Ian Sundberg,
15Landon Whelchel, Gio Gatza, Austin Heath, Landon Montavon,
16Vincent Zembrzuski, and Zach Dunne; juniors Joel Billhorn,
17Eddie Jones, Josh McKendry, Ed Fry, Brody Christoffersen,
18Tyler Huggins, Kabe Daniels, Tate Sundberg, Quinn Leffelman,
19Brayden Klein, Caleb Yanos, Michael Shoemaker, Dillon
20Merriman, and Caleb Shugars; sophomores Cody Winn and Rylan
21McNinch; and freshmen Jose Lopez, Evan Flanagan, Caiden Heath,
22and Trevor Stenzel; and

1    WHEREAS, The Clippers football team is led by Head Coach
2Scott Payne and assistant coaches, Jeramey Wittenauer, Tyson
3Powers, Sam Jones, Kenny Shrimplin, and Abel Sustaita; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Amboy High School Athletics instills the values
5of sportsmanship, character, and integrity in all of its
6athletes, and all of these values were on full display this
7football season; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
9HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10we congratulate the Amboy-LaMoille-Ohio Clippers football team
11on its success and recognize the players' hard work,
12dedication to excellent football, and proud representation of
13their schools; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
15presented to the Clippers football team and coaches as a
16symbol of our esteem and respect.
