HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate John A. Grande on the
4occasion of his retirement from a career in service to the
5Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council, Carpenters Local
61539, and Carpenters Local 13; and
 
7    WHEREAS, John A. Grande, a second generation union
8carpenter, was initiated into Carpenters Local 1539 on October
92, 1986; he then completed a four-year apprenticeship; and
 
10    WHEREAS, John A. Grande served as assistant coordinator
11for the Mid-America Carpenters Apprentice & Training Program
12from 1997 to 2014, regional council representative from 2014
13to 2024, Local 1539 trustee from 2001 to 2010, vice president
14from 2010 to 2014, financial secretary treasurer from 2014 to
152017, and president from 2017 to 2018; and
 
16    WHEREAS, John A. Grande became a regional council
17representative for Carpenters Local 13 and served as a
18regional council delegate after Local 1539 merged with Local
1913; he was also a delegate to two UBC International
20conventions; and
 
21    WHEREAS, John A. Grande is passionate about the waterways

1of the Midwest, serving as the representative for the
2Carpenters at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of
3Greater Chicago and the vice president of the Chicago and
4Western Lakes Port Council; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John A. Grande is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys
6hunting, four wheeling, and many other activities; he is a fan
7of Big 10 football, especially the University of Illinois; he
8also enjoys spending time with his two daughters; therefore,
9be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we congratulate John A. Grande on his retirement from a career
13in service to Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council,
14Carpenters Local 1539, and Carpenters Local 13; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to John A. Grande as a symbol of our respect and
18esteem.
