HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of John
4Terry "Bones" Allan of Collinsville, who passed away on
5December 11, 2024; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Terry Allan was born in East St. Louis to Elmer
7and Constance (Genetti) Allan on January 22, 1943; he
8graduated from Collinsville High School in 1961; he married
9Mary Therese Frauenfelder in 1967; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Terry Allan worked at Viviano's grocery store and
11surrounding stores as a meat cutter for Local 88 and Local 534
12from 1968 to 1975; he was a car salesman for Bo Beuckman Ford,
13Elmer Molitor, and Jack Schmitt Ford from 1975 through 1988;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Terry Allan was elected Collinsville Township
16Clerk in 1977 and served for four years; he served as
17Collinsville Township Supervisor for 39 years from 1981
18through March 2020; he generously volunteered his time to help
19many organizations in the Collinsville, Maryville, and other
20Metro East areas, serving as chairman, vice chairman,
21treasurer, and board member for the Madison County Transit
22District for a 34 year span, as a committeeman for the Metro

1East Regional Storm Water District and Madison County Public
2Aid Appeal, as past president and secretary of the Madison
3County Township Officials, and as past president of the
4Collinsville Democrat Club; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Terry Allan attended Missouri Auction School in
6Kansas City, Missouri to become an auctioneer in 1982; he and
7Mary were the owners of Allan Auction Service for 38 years from
81982 to 2020 with the children, grandchildren, and many
9special family and friends helping at each sale; he was a
10member of state and national auctioneer associations and was
11past president, secretary, and treasurer of the Local Region
12of the Illinois Auctioneer Association; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Terry Allan had a vivacious love for life and his
14community, and his true passion was for helping those in need;
15he was a member and ex-officio of the Collinsville Chamber of
16Commerce and worked with the Troy, Maryville, St. Jacob, and
17Marine Chamber of Commerce; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Terry Allan received numerous awards and
19recognitions over the years, including the Paul Harris
20Fellowship Award from the National Rotary Club, the 2005
21Wilkerson Chapel A.M.E. Church Golden Spirit Award, the Local
22Collinsville Lions Club Award, the Kimmel Award, and the 2010
23Spirit of Excellence Award; and

1    WHEREAS, Terry Allan was affectionately known as "Bones";
2he loved spending quality time with family and friends and
3enjoyed hosting gatherings; he loved to fish and was known for
4his BBQ and grill master skills; during the holidays, he
5brought joy and smiles to hundreds of children and the elderly
6when he visited them as Santa; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Terry Allan was preceded in death by his parents;
8his in-laws, Harry and Eileen (Berkley) Frauenfelder; his
9brother, William Allan; his brothers-in-law, Warren Billhartz,
10John Frauenfelder, and Robert Modlin; and his sister-in-law,
11Janice Frauenfelder; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Terry Allan is survived by his wife of 57 years,
13Mary; his daughter, Teri (Mike) Picchioldi; his daughter,
14Jeana (Jim) Heyden; his son, Luke (Beth) Allan; his
15grandchildren, Joel (Yenny) Blaies, Lauren (Anthony) Randazzo,
16Nicole Picchioldi, Kailey (Ryan) Onesky, Megan (Tyler) Auten,
17Luke (Samantha) Allan, Paige Allan, and Danica Allan; his
18great-grandchildren, Amelie Blaies, Zoe Blaies, Blaine
19Randazzo, Raife Randazzo, Blake Randazzo, and Baby Auten due
20in June 2025; his brothers, Thomas (Billie) Allan and Edward
21(Annette) Allan; his sisters, Marybeth Allan and Marcia
22Billhartz; his sister-in-law, Sally Allan; his
23brothers-in-law, Harry Joe and Ron (Laurel) Frauenfelder; many

1dear cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews,
2great-great nieces, great-great-nephews, and cherished
3friends; and the Collinsville Township family and auction
4family; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
6HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
7we mourn the passing of John Terry "Bones" Allan and extend our
8sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
9and loved him; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Terry Allan as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
