Amends the Legislative Commission Reorganization Act of 1984. Provides that newsletters and printed material printed on behalf of a member of the General Assembly may include autobiographical or biographical information about a member as long as the information does not include: (1) information about past or future campaigns; (2) information designed to provide an economic benefit to the member or the member's family; or (3) family news unrelated to the member's official role. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Legislative Commission Reorganization Act |
5 | | of 1984 is amended by changing Section 9-2.5 as follows: |
6 | | (25 ILCS 130/9-2.5)

7 | | Sec. 9-2.5. Newsletters and brochures. The Legislative |
8 | | Printing Unit may
not print for any member of the General |
9 | | Assembly any newsletters or brochures
during the period |
10 | | beginning February 1 of the
year of a general primary |
11 | | election, except that in 2022 the period shall begin on May 15, |
12 | | 2022, and ending the day after the general primary
election |
13 | | and during a period beginning September 1 of the year of a |
14 | | general
election and ending the day after the general |
15 | | election.
A member of the General Assembly may not mail, |
16 | | during a period beginning
February 1 of the year of a general |
17 | | primary election, except that in 2022 the period shall begin |
