AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1256




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1256 as follows:

 
3on page 1, line 5, after "Section 2", by inserting "and by 
4adding Section 3.6"; and
 
5on page 3, immediately below line 4, by inserting the 
6following:
 
7    "(425 ILCS 30/3.6 new)
8    Sec. 3.6. Sale of sparklers. The following may not be sold 
9to a person under the age of 18: (i) any ground-based sparkler 
10that is nonexplosive and nonaerial, that may produce a 
11crackling or whistling effect, and that contains 75 grams or 
12less of pyrotechnic composition per tube or a total of 500 
13grams or less for multiple tubes; or (ii) any wood stick or 
14wire sparkler that contains not more than 100 grams of 
15pyrotechnic mixture per item."; and
