Amends the State Board of Education Article of the School Code. Provides that any task force, study committee, blue ribbon panel, commission, or organization created or appointed by the State Board of Education or the State Superintendent of Education after the effective date of the amendatory Act, including one created by the State Board of Education or one mandated by the Governor or General Assembly, shall include representatives that reflect the racial, ethnic, and geographic diversity of this State, including representatives of rural, suburban, and urban areas.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section |
5 | | 2-3.7a as follows:
|
6 | | (105 ILCS 5/2-3.7a) (from Ch. 122, par. 2-3.7a)
|
7 | | Sec. 2-3.7a. Advisory committees and their composition. To |
8 | | create,
form, or appoint task forces, study committees, blue |
9 | | ribbon panels,
commissions, or any other type of organization, |
10 | | by whatever name
designated, to study or examine educational |
11 | | policy issues, problems, or
concerns. |
12 | | Any task force, study committee, blue ribbon panel, |
13 | | commission,
or organization created or appointed by the State |
14 | | Board of Education or the
State Superintendent of Education |
15 | | after this amendatory Act takes effect
shall include parents |
16 | | or guardians of students involved in or directly affected
by |
17 | | the issues, problems, or concerns under study. The parents or |
18 | | guardians
appointed to comply with this Section shall not be |
19 | | employed by or
administratively connected with any school |
20 | | system or institution of higher
learning in Illinois, employed |
21 | | by any educational collective bargaining
organization within |
22 | | Illinois, employed by any association of school boards
or |
23 | | school administrative officers, employed by the State Board of
