| 1 | | AN ACT concerning education.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections |
| 5 | | 10-20.87 and 34-18.85 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (105 ILCS 5/10-20.87 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 10-20.87. Automated external defibrillator; |
| 8 | | attendance centers and extracurricular activities. |
| 9 | | (a) As used in this Section, "automated external |
| 10 | | defibrillator" has the meaning provided in the Automated |
| 11 | | External Defibrillator Act. |
| 12 | | (b) A school district shall require all attendance centers |
| 13 | | to have present during the school day and during a |
| 14 | | school-sponsored extracurricular activity on school grounds at |
| 15 | | least one automated external defibrillator. |
| 16 | | (c) An automated external defibrillator installed and |
| 17 | | maintained in accordance with the Physical Fitness Facility |
| 18 | | Medical Emergency Preparedness Act may be used to satisfy the |
| 19 | | requirements of this Section.
