SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Barbara Jean Dooper of St. Charles,
4formerly of Zion, who passed away on January 21, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Barbara Dooper was born to Leslie and Marian
6Worth in Waukegan on September 29, 1940; she married Joseph
7Dooper at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wadsworth on February
816, 1963; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Barbara Dooper worked as a car hop at Dog N Suds,
10a ticket seller at Genesee Theater, and a secretary at Abbott
11Laboratories; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Barbara Dooper was involved with her children's
13school as PTO Co-President and served as room mother as well as
14a den mother for Cub Scouts; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Barbara Dooper enjoyed reading and cheering on
16the Chicago Cubs; she was a wonderful hostess and enjoyed
17trying out new recipes at the annual family Christmas parties;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Barbara Dooper was preceded in death by her
20parents; her husband; and her four siblings, Norman Worth,

1Carol Richardson, Peggy Danus, and Bill McClure; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Barbara Dooper is survived by her two children,
3Michael (Kerri) Dooper and Ann (Rich) Hodyl; her four
4grandchildren, Brian (Amber) Dooper, Matthew Dooper, Charlie
5Hodyl, and Sam Hodyl; her two great-grandchildren, Brooke and
6Leah; her sister, Shirley Johnson; her sister-in-law, Eloise
7Dooper; her brother-in-law, John Richardson; and her many
8other relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Barbara Jean Dooper and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Barbara Dooper as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
