SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Paul Raymond Newcomb of Pekin, who 
4passed away on January 30, 2023; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Newcomb was born to Raymond and Evelyn 
6(Magill) Newcomb in Peoria on August 8, 1939; he served in the 
7U.S. Marine Corps; he married Patricia Alexander at Grace 
8Presbyterian Church in Peoria on December 7, 1968; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Paul Newcomb worked as a financial planner and 
10agent at Prudential Insurance for 30 years before retiring; 
11and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Paul Newcomb was a longtime member of Grace 
13Presbyterian Church in Peoria; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Paul Newcomb was an avid car enthusiast, and he 
15enjoyed collecting model and vintage cars; he was also a 
16Bradley basketball fan; he loved spending quality time with 
17his granddaughter; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Paul Newcomb was preceded in death by his 
19parents; and

1    WHEREAS, Paul Newcomb is survived by his wife of 54 years, 
2Patricia; his son, Gregory Scott (Aurea) Newcomb; his 
3granddaughter, Daniella Newcomb; and his sister, Carole Banta; 
4therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7Paul Raymond Newcomb and extend our sincere condolences to his 
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
9further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Paul Newcomb as an expression of our 
12deepest sympathy.
