SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Donald C. Hampton of Galva, formerly
4of Kewanee, who passed away on January 30, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Hampton was born to Wren C. and Lela
6(Fawcett) Hampton in Peoria on May 30, 1930; he attended
7Kewanee schools; he served in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1950;
8he married Alma J. Burch in Kewanee on December 3, 1950, and
9they later divorced; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Donald Hampton worked at the John Deere Company
11until his retirement; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Donald Hampton was an avid St. Louis Cardinals
13fan; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Donald Hampton was preceded in death by his
15parents; his ex-wife; his daughter, Glenda Wallace; his
16grandsons, Justin and Rex Hampton; his great-grandson, Hampton
17Johnson; his brothers, Wren, Nick, Kenney, Robert, Howard, and
18Fred; and his sisters, Barbara, Sheila, Lela, and Alberta in
19infancy; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Donald Hampton is survived by his partner of 30

1years, Marilyn Hass; his children, Donya (Dennis) Price,
2Shirlee (Greg) Fritch, Sheila (Dewayne) Willey, Sharon (Dan)
3Jaques, and Chris (Lisa) Hampton; his son-in-law, Mike
4Wallace; Marilyn's children, Missy (Brent) Stewart and Richard
5Hass; his grandchildren; Dean (Rachelle) Price, Duane (Torri)
6Price, Stephanie (Brad) Fritch, Chet Fritch, Brett (Jessica)
7Johnson, Donald (Stephanie) Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Chris
8(Brittany) Johnson, Joyce Willey, Stephan Johnson DeRosalyn,
9Jules (Luke) Quedenfield, Jared Jaques, Alyssa (Dom) Greer,
10and Nicholas Wallace; his 21 great-grandchildren; and his
11three great-great grandchildren, with one on the way;
12therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Donald C. Hampton and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Donald Hampton as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
