SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Robert M. "Bob" Loter of Hamilton, who
4passed away on February 14, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Loter was born to George W. and Cathrine E.
6(Leeper) Loter in Keokuk, Iowa on December 6, 1938; he
7graduated from Warsaw High School in 1956; he served in the
8U.S. Army in California and Korea, and he was honorably
9discharged in February 1959; he married Judith A. (Frakes)
10Davis on November 4, 1960; and
 
11    WHEREAS, After returning home, Bob Loter worked at the
12Warsaw Battery Factory and Keokuk Electric Metals; he was
13employed by General Mills in Keokuk in 1966; he retired from
14Ogilvie Mills in 1985; he went to work for Dallas City and
15Keokuk Homestore Lumber Yards, retiring in 2009; he also
16delivered the Daily Gate City Newspaper in Warsaw for over six
17years; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Growing up, Bob Loter was a member of Sacred
19Heart Catholic Church in Warsaw, where he served as an altar
20boy for six years; at the time of his passing, he was an active
21member of the Church of All Saints in Keokuk; and

1    WHEREAS, Bob Loter enjoyed roller skating and riding his
2bike; he was known for his carpentry skills, and he made
3several pieces of furniture for his older granddaughters; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Bob Loter was preceded in death by his parents;
5his brother, Richard Loter; his sister, Patricia Loter; and
6his brother in infancy; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Bob Loter is survived by his wife of 63 years,
8Judith; his daughters, Jackie Householder and Leisa (Jerry)
9McCredie; his son, Todd W. Loter; his nine grandchildren; his
1018 great-grandchildren; his three great-great-grandchildren,
11with two on the way; and his sister, Sharon Loter; therefore,
12be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Robert M. "Bob" Loter and extend our sincere condolences to
16his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Bob Loter as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
