SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Judith A. "Judy" Martin of Joliet, who
4passed away on March 9, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Judy Martin was born to Raymond A. and Mable
6(Waite) Kozian in Joliet on March 19, 1944; she graduated from
7Joliet Central High School in 1962; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Judy Martin was employed at the Joliet American
9Legion Post 1080 for 12 and a half years until her retirement;
10during her tenure, she developed many great friendships and
11memories; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Judy Martin was a member of St. Patrick's Church;
13she was a past president of the Parent Teacher Association
14(PTA) at Sheridan Elementary School; she served as an active
15member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary for many
16years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Judy Martin was a loving wife, mother,
18grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and
19friend; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Judy Martin was preceded in death by her

1great-grandsons, Gavin and Samuel White Jr.; her parents; her
2sister, Diane R. Kaiser; her special cousins, Marilyn
3Zembruski and Donna Blackwell; her grandparents; her aunts and
4uncles; and her dog, Marley; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Judy Martin is survived by her husband of 19
6years, Phillip R. Martin; her sons, Robert A. (Michele) White,
7Kenneth J. (Dayna) White, and Daniel J. (Bobbie Jo) White; her
8grandchildren, Robert White Jr., Brian White, Samuel (Kristen)
9White, Heather White, Corine White, and Kenneth White Jr.; her
10step-grandchildren, Samantha Zinkiewicz, Brittany Fuller, and
11Kayla Zinkiewicz; her great-grandchildren; her brother,
12Lawrence Kozian; her brother-in-law, Terry Kaiser; her nieces,
13nephews, and cousins; Phillip's children, Julia (Jim)
14Angelopoulos, Phillip (Wendy) Martin Jr., and Roy (Angie)
15Martin, and their children and grandchildren; her numerous
16friends; and her dog, Merle; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19Judith A. "Judy" Martin and extend our sincere condolences to
20her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
21further
 
22    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
23presented to the family of Judy Martin as an expression of our
