SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of JC Kowa of Olney, who passed away on
4March 18, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, JC Kowa was born to Carl and Betty (Worrell) Kowa
6in Olney on January 13, 1958; he married Carmen Cato at Trinity
7Lutheran Church in Olney on October 18, 1986; and
 
8    WHEREAS, JC Kowa was a leader and mentor to many in
9Richland County; he served as chairman of the Richland County
10Republican Party for many years; he also served as a trustee of
11Olney Township and as southern vice president of the Illinois
12County Chairman Association; and
 
13    WHEREAS, JC Kowa loved spending time at the family farm,
14where he took pleasure in mowing, gardening, and fishing; he
15also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and golfing
16with friends and family; and
 
17    WHEREAS, JC Kowa will be remembered for his commitment to
18his family and community; and
 
19    WHEREAS, JC Kowa was preceded in death by his parents; and

1    WHEREAS, JC Kowa is survived by his wife, Carmen Kowa; his
2sons, Will (Savannah) Kowa and Jake (Allison) Kowa; his
3grandchildren, Mykaela, Emmersyn, Everytt, Wylla, Ivy, and
4Edyth Kowa; his sister, Nancy (Sal) Boccuzzi; his aunt, Bonnie
5(Richard) Schnell; and his several nieces, nephews, and
6cousins; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9JC Kowa and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
10friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of JC Kowa as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
