|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Joseph Canady, who passed away on |
4 | | December 24, 2022; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Canady was born to Frank Kennedy Sr. and |
6 | | Mattie Lee Fontaine in Macon, Georgia on March 1, 1955; he |
7 | | graduated from Southwest High School in Macon in 1973 and |
8 | | relocated to Chicago; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Canady worked for Midas International for |
10 | | 29 years; he started in an entry level position and worked his |
11 | | way up in the company, retiring as plant manager; he graduated |
12 | | from Northwestern Business College in 1999; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, After retiring from Midas, Joseph Canady worked |
14 | | as a property manager for Park Towers in Richton Park; he was |
15 | | elected as the village clerk for Richton Park in June 2012 and |
16 | | to the Richton Park Board of Trustees in June 2019; he was |
17 | | involved with the Municipal Clerks' Association of South & |
18 | | West Suburbs of Cook County; and |
19 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Canady's servant heart and ability to care |
20 | | for others were some of his best qualities; he was passionate |
21 | | about his family and did what he could to always make sure that |

1 | | the ones close to him knew how much he loved and cared for |
2 | | them; he was a member of Apostolic Church of God in Christ in |
3 | | Chicago and a regular visitor of Victory Apostolic Church in |
4 | | Matteson; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Canady was preceded in death by his |
6 | | parents and his brothers, Rickey and Frank Canady Jr.; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Canady is survived by his daughter, |
8 | | Turkesha "Touki" (Deon) Perry; his son, Joseph Terrell Canady; |
9 | | his granddaughters, Tanaya and Tiana Canady; his sisters, |
10 | | Francine (Bobby) Glenn, Theresa (Bill) Canady, Gail Canady |
11 | | Thomas, and Sharlene Ford; his second mother, Vera May |
12 | | Stovall; his friend, Robert "Wicks" Williams; his Godson, |
13 | | Connor Kington; and numerous family and friends; therefore, be |
14 | | it
|
15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
17 | | Joseph Canady and extend our sincere condolences to his |
18 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
19 | | further

20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
21 | | presented to the family of Joseph Canady as an expression of |
22 | | our deepest sympathy.
