2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Morris Dean Allen of Pekin, who passed |
4 | | away on July 15, 2023; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Dean Allen was born to Gerald Lee and Amelia |
6 | | (Rocket) Allen in Peoria on June 20, 1937; he graduated from |
7 | | Pekin Community High School in 1955; he served in the U.S. Navy |
8 | | from 1955 to 1958; he married Betty Lou Schimmelpfennig in |
9 | | Pekin on June 11, 1982; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Dean Allen worked for Steamfitters Local 353 in |
11 | | Peoria for 38 years; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Dean Allen was a member of Empire Lodge 126, the |
13 | | Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Illinois in Pekin, and Pekin |
14 | | Moose Lodge 916; he was a former member of the Timberlake Club |
15 | | of Peoria and the Pekin Eagles Aerie 1869; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Dean Allen enjoyed traveling, golfing, gardening, |
17 | | playing cards, and doing handyman work; he loved spending time |
18 | | with his family, talking to his friends, and going on golf cart |
19 | | rides; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Dean Allen was preceded in death by his parents; |

1 | | his son, Troy Allen; his brothers, Monroe Allen, Donald Allen, |
2 | | and Jackie Lee Allen; his sisters, Janis Ward and Phyllis |
3 | | Morsch; his brother-in-law, Edward Schimmelpfennig; and his |
4 | | sisters-in-law, Ann Richmond, Mabel Look, Jackie Buff, and |
5 | | Mary Andrews; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Dean Allen is survived by his wife; his daughter, |
7 | | Stacey Lynn Allen; his grandchildren, Ian Allen, Steven |
8 | | Fredrickson, Elizabeth Fredrickson, and Abagail Fredrickson; |
9 | | his great-grandson, Everett Dean Fredrickson; his |
10 | | daughter-in-law, Gaylynn Allen; his brother-in-law, Robert |
11 | | "Buzz" (Dar) Schimmelpfennig; and his sister-in-law, Connie |
12 | | Schimmelpfennig; therefore, be it

13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
