SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Harper Layne Finn of Altamont, who passed away on August 2, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Harper Finn was born to Richard and Bethany (Stuckemeyer) Finn in Hammond, Indiana on June 8, 2018; she graduated from Frog Pond Nursery School in Altamont, and she was looking forward to starting kindergarten; and

WHEREAS, Harper Finn dreamed of becoming a cheerleader one day, and she was preparing to appear in the Effingham County Fair Little Miss pageant at the time of her passing; and

WHEREAS, Harper Finn enjoyed wearing dresses, painting her nails, running and playing outside with her brother and cousins, jumping in bouncy houses, singing, and dancing; she liked reading and playing with her horses and other animals; her favorite foods were butter noodles, cheese pizza, and her grandmother Donna's pancakes; and

WHEREAS, Harper Finn loved all things pink, and she especially loved spending time with her family, the three family dogs, and friends; and

WHEREAS, Harper Finn will be remembered for her brave and adventurous spirit; and

WHEREAS, Harper Finn was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Rick Finn; and

WHEREAS, Harper Finn is survived by her parents; her brother, Lincoln; her paternal grandmothers, Lisa Tipsword and Rikki Finn; her maternal grandparents, Dean and Donna Stuckemeyer; her maternal great-grandfather, Leo Stuckemeyer; her aunts and uncles, Travis (Kara) Tipsword, Amie Tipsword, and Amy (Brandon) West; and many cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Harper Layne Finn and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Harper Finn as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
