SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of William "Bil" Ford Jr. of Geneseo,
4formerly of East Moline, who passed away on October 5, 2023;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Bil Ford was born to William and Opal Henderson
7Ford Sr. in Detroit, Michigan on November 9, 1937; he served in
8the 8th Armored Victory Division, Company C, 81st Medium Tank
9Battalion of the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan; he
10married Nancy J. Lincke in Rock Island on November 21, 1958,
11and she preceded him in death on June 13, 2009; he was a
12graduate of the FBI Academy; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bil Ford retired as a lieutenant from the East
14Moline Police Department; he later became a realtor, selling
15real estate in Arizona with his wife; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Bil Ford was preceded in death by his parents;
17his twin children, Darbey and Terri; his child, Colleen Ford;
18and his sister, Dorothy; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Bil Ford is survived by his children, Steve Ford
20and Kellie (Philip Thiel) Van Meter-Thiel; his grandchildren,
21Shannon, Brandon, Joann Jean, and Travis; his

1great-grandchildren, Ashley Marie and Aurora; and his sister,
2Ruth Ford; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5William "Bil" Ford Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to
6his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Bil Ford as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
