2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of William "Bil" Ford Jr. of Geneseo, |
4 | | formerly of East Moline, who passed away on October 5, 2023; |
5 | | and |
6 | | WHEREAS, Bil Ford was born to William and Opal Henderson |
7 | | Ford Sr. in Detroit, Michigan on November 9, 1937; he served in |
8 | | the 8th Armored Victory Division, Company C, 81st Medium Tank |
9 | | Battalion of the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan; he |
10 | | married Nancy J. Lincke in Rock Island on November 21, 1958, |
11 | | and she preceded him in death on June 13, 2009; he was a |
12 | | graduate of the FBI Academy; and |
13 | | WHEREAS, Bil Ford retired as a lieutenant from the East |
14 | | Moline Police Department; he later became a realtor, selling |
15 | | real estate in Arizona with his wife; and |
16 | | WHEREAS, Bil Ford was preceded in death by his parents; |
17 | | his twin children, Darbey and Terri; his child, Colleen Ford; |
18 | | and his sister, Dorothy; and |
19 | | WHEREAS, Bil Ford is survived by his children, Steve Ford |
20 | | and Kellie (Philip Thiel) Van Meter-Thiel; his grandchildren, |
21 | | Shannon, Brandon, Joann Jean, and Travis; his |
