SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Freddie P. Taylor of Rock Island, who
4passed away on September 27, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Freddie Taylor was born in Huntingdon, Tennessee
6on January 20, 1938; he was raised by his mother, Hazel
7(Taylor) Harrison, and his grandparents, Emanuel Taylor and
8Bertie (Alexander) Taylor; he served in the U.S. Air Force
9during the Vietnam War; he married Kathy Jo McNamara, and she
10preceded him in death on December 3, 2020; he was previously
11married to Beverly Boyd; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Freddie Taylor worked at John Deere, Service
13Rubber, and different nightclubs; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Freddie Taylor loved fishing, hunting, bowling,
15playing cards, and watching sports and western movies; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Freddie Taylor was preceded in death by his
17mother; his grandparents; his grandson, Jerrell Gabriel Sr.;
18his brother, Robert Taylor; his sister, Peggy Taylor; his
19niece, India Taylor; his aunt, Ida Mae Taylor; and his
20great-nephews, Eric Cunningham and Marcus Kelly; and

1    WHEREAS, Freddie Taylor is survived by his daughters,
2Yolanda Gabriel and Lita Taylor; his son, Rod Taylor; his
3grandson, Tremaine Gabriel; his stepchildren, Lisa Lema,
4Nicole (Daylen) Daniels, and Jason (Emily) Benge; a host of
5nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and
6his special friends who were like siblings, Darrell Lowe and
7Lori Hamilton; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Freddie P. Taylor and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Freddie Taylor as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
