SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3congratulate Christine Myers on the occasion of her retirement
4as executive director of the Livingston County Mental Health
5and Disabilities Boards; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Christine Myers' dedication to improving the
7lives of others began with her early work in the Birth to Three
8Early Intervention Program, followed by serving as an activity
9director, case manager, and Special Olympics coach for a
10Center for Developmental Disability Services; she then worked
11as an independent service coordinator for 13 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Christine Myers has served as executive director
13of the Livingston County Mental Health and Disabilities Boards
14since 2015, providing leadership in advancing behavioral
15health in Livingston County through this position and as an
16active member of the Association of Community Mental Health
17Authorities of Illinois (ACMHAI); and
 
18    WHEREAS, Christine Myers has brought her expertise and
19passion for helping others to the membership of ACMHAI, where
20she has been an ongoing contributor, strong advocate, and
21skilled spokesperson on intellectual and developmental
22disabilities and behavioral health issues, serving as the

1chair of the Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Committee
2since 2022; and
 
3    WHEREAS, While serving on the ACMHAI Legislative
4Committee, Christine Myers has demonstrated a keen awareness
5of the legislative process and has consistently advanced
6community-based behavioral health and system issues within
7Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Services in Illinois;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Christine Myers has served on the Executive
10Council of the Illinois Public Health Association,
11representing the interests of community mental health and
12developmental disabilities boards to the public health
13community; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Christine Myers serves as director of the
15Livingston County Commission on Children and Youth, treasurer
16of the Livingston County Homeless Coalition, and as a member
17of the OSF Livingston Community Health Needs Assessment Team;
18therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate
21Christine Myers on her retirement, and we express our
22heartfelt gratitude for her exceptional service, leadership,

1and contributions to behavioral health and for persons with
2intellectual and developmental disabilities; and be it further
 
3    RESOLVED, That we wish Christine Myers a joyful and
4fulfilling retirement; and be it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to Christine Myers as an expression of our esteem
7and respect.
