SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Robert F. Sickels of East Moline, who
4passed away on October 27, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Sickels was born to Marion and Myrle
6Huneke Sickels in Burlington, Iowa on May 17, 1938; he served
7in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; he married Carole
8Ann Bliss in Burlington on June 22, 1958; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Sickels worked as a test engineer for Case
10IH for 35 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Sickels enjoyed boating and camping; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Robert Sickels was preceded in death by his wife
13of 50 years; his parents; and his grandson, Robert Johnson;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Robert Sickels is survived by his children,
16DeWayne (Rhonda) Sickels, Pam (Randy) Garien, and Lori (Jeff)
17Brown; his significant other of 14 years, Delores Flathers;
18three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one
19great-great-grandchild; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Robert F. Sickels and extend our sincere condolences to his
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Robert Sickels as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
