SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of MaryAnn Wojtowicz Whitney of Joliet,
4who passed away on December 1, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, MaryAnn Wojtowicz Whitney was born to Margaret
6(Loncka) Lievens and William Lievens in Lockport on August 3,
71943; she married George Wojtowicz shortly after graduating
8high school; and
 
9    WHEREAS, MaryAnn Wojtowicz Whitney loved life and loved
10people; she was a member of the Red Hat Society and the
11American Legion Post #1080 Ladies Auxiliary; and
 
12    WHEREAS, MaryAnn Wojtowicz Whitney was an optimist with a
13boundless positive energy; she loved traveling, especially
14cruises, and was exceptionally enthusiastic about anything
15Elvis Presley related, a passion which was only outmatched by
16the love she held for her family and friends; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mary Wojtowicz Whitney was preceded in death by
18her parents; her husband of 48 years, George Wojtowicz; and
19her siblings, George (Dorothy "Pudge") Lievens and Daniel
20Lievens; and

1    WHEREAS, Mary Wojtowicz Whitney is survived by her
2husband, Terrance "Terry" Whitney; her children, Kenneth
3(Diane) Wojtowicz and Karen (David) Schavey; five
4grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sisters, Peggy
5(Frank) Thomas and Therese (Richard) Rayburn; her
6sisters-in-law, Sharon Lievens and Barb (the late Robert)
7Jadron; and several nieces, nephews, and other members of her
8family; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11MaryAnn Wojtowicz Whitney and extend our sincere condolences
12to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Mary Wojtowicz Whitney as an
16expression of our deepest sympathy.
