SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Richard "Rich" Martin of Port Byron,
4who passed away on December 5, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rich Martin was born to Robert and Mildred Martin
6in Moline on February 13, 1945; he graduated from Moline High
7School in 1963 and briefly attended Black Hawk College; he
8served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he married
9Linda (Frits) Martin in 1969, and they later divorced; he
10married Donna (Bielema) Martin in 1981; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Rich Martin was employed as a journeyman machine
12repairman at JD Planter for 37.7 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Rich Martin was a member of the Quad City's
14Vintage Rods; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Rich Martin loved his 1937 Ford, which he had for
16over 50 years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rich Martin is survived by his wife; his
18children, Amie, Drew, and Jody; his grandchildren, Nathan and
19Melissa; his sister, Diane (Dave) Ballard; his brother, Tom;
20five nieces; and many friends; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Richard "Rich" Martin and extend our sincere condolences to
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Rich Martin as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
