| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Wolfgang William "Wolf" Gustaveson, |
| 4 | | who passed away on December 4, 2023; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Wolf Gustaveson was born to Jason Gustaveson and |
| 6 | | Janessa Nikols on September 22, 2004; he graduated from Maine |
| 7 | | East High School in Park Ridge and was a freshman at Southern |
| 8 | | Illinois University, where he was majoring in automotive |
| 9 | | technology; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Wolf Gustaveson loved cars and anything with an |
| 11 | | engine; he also enjoyed snowboarding and baseball; he had a |
| 12 | | contagious laugh, lit up a room, and had a knack for making |
| 13 | | others feel comfortable and welcome; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Wolf Gustaveson was always willing to lend a |
| 15 | | helping hand; he was a hardworking and strong individual; he |
| 16 | | was loyal, loved learning, and loved a challenge; he stood up |
| 17 | | for what was right, despite the consequences; he not only |
| 18 | | found but created community and connections wherever he was, |
| 19 | | be it on the field, with his friends and family, helping |
| 20 | | others, or tinkering with machines; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Wolf Gustaveson's kindness, heart, commitment, |
|

| 1 | | and humor were evident in how he engaged life and with people |
| 2 | | all around him; he touched the lives of so many and will be |
| 3 | | dearly missed and forever remembered; he was an incredible |
| 4 | | son, brother, cousin, grandson, nephew, and friend to many; |
| 5 | | and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Wolf Gustaveson was the beloved son of Jason |
| 7 | | Gustaveson and Janessa Nikols; the loving brother of Grace and |
| 8 | | Henry; the dear grandson of Janeen and Morgan O'Brien and Dee |
| 9 | | and the late William Gustaveson; the cherished nephew of Kathy |
| 10 | | (Dennis) Wogen, Krissy (Bill) Lucas, Bob (Jolene) Gustaveson, |
| 11 | | Jonathan (Lesley) Nikols, Joy (Joe) Krelle, Chris (Marge) |
| 12 | | Wagner, Rachel O'Brien, and Erin O'Brien; the proud cousin of |
| 13 | | Marcus Gustaveson, Tyler Wogen, Olivia and Emma Lucas, |
| 14 | | Jacinda, Jeremy, and Joshua Gustaveson, Emily, Caleb, Mallory, |
| 15 | | and Colton Nikols, Cate and Maddie Krelle, Zach, Alex, and |
| 16 | | Clay Wagner, and Noah and Hannah O'Brien; and the revered |
| 17 | | friend of many, including his "crew" and SIU family; |

| 19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
| 20 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 21 | | Wolfgang William "Wolf" Gustaveson and extend our sincere |
| 22 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
| 23 | | him; and be it further
