SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Jerry M. Wilson of Havana, who passed
4away on February 25, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Wilson was born to Donald and Madeline
6Wilson on October 12, 1947; he attended school in Havana; he
7served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Jerry Wilson worked for Westinghouse in Lester,
9Pennsylvania, Scott Paper in Chester, Pennsylvania, and Boeing
10in Essington, Pennsylvania before moving back to Illinois; he
11then worked for Walker Forge in Havana, Caterpillar in East
12Peoria and Mossville, Star Transport in Morton, and Farm and
13Home in Havana; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jerry Wilson served as chief driver for the
15Essington Volunteer Fire Department in Pennsylvania and
16captain of the Havana Volunteer Fire Department; he was a
17member of the Havana VFW Post #6408 Auxiliary and the Havana
18Boat Club; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jerry Wilson was preceded in death by his
20parents; and

1    WHEREAS, Jerry Wilson is survived by his wife, Gail
2(Smith) Wilson; his children, Jeri (Jason) Shilling and
3Heather (Stevan) Hofreiter; his grandchildren, Dominique
4Shilling, Samuel Shilling, Madison Hofreiter, and Claire
5Hofreiter; his stepchildren, Michelle (Chuck) Calhoun and
6David West; his step-grandchildren, Laney Kelomel, Nolan
7Kelomel, and Drake Calhoun; his great-grandson, Jaxen Jenson;
8his great-granddaughters, Braelynn Lindsey and Lillian
9Lindsey; and his siblings, Mark (Mary) Hosford, Gene (Donna)
10Hosford, Guy Hosford, Chris (Lee) Eilers, Kevin (Donna) Smith,
11Penney (Darren) Mathias, Sandy McCari, and Randy Smith;
12therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Jerry M. Wilson and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Jerry Wilson as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
