SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Craig A. Meeske, formerly of East
4Moline, who passed away on May 15, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Craig Meeske was born in Moline to LaVerne and
6Marlese (Evans) Meeske on April 3, 1947; he served in the
7United States Marine Corps; he married Cheryl Ann Knott at
8First Baptist Church in Silvis on April 6, 1968; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Craig Meeske worked as a foreman at Case IH and
10operated the family farm with his father and sons; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Craig Meeske had been active at Wildwood Church
12since it was constructed; he loved being outside, farming, and
13spending time with his grandchildren; he also was involved in
14the community; he served on the Hampton School Board and
15coached many youth athletic teams; he had a great sense of
16humor and loved making omelets for the family on Sunday
17mornings; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Craig Meeske was preceded in death by his wife,
19Cheryl, and his brothers-in-law, Greg and Robert Knott; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Craig Meeske is survived by his sons, Todd (Amy)

1and Chad (Sarah) Meeske; his grandchildren, Alex (Malik
2Thalji), Jake (Abbie), Megan, and Haley Meeske; his siblings,
3Linda Knott and Larry (Lynne) Meeske; and his brother-in-law,
4Criss (Sharon) Knott; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Craig A. Meeske and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Craig Meeske as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
