SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Thomas L. "Tom" Tracy of Kirkwood,
4Missouri, formerly of Mt. Sterling, who passed away on
5November 14, 2024; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Tom Tracy was born to Robert "RT" and Dorothy
7Tracy on August 27, 1952; he attended St. Mary's Academy and
8graduated from Brown County High School; he earned his
9bachelor's degree in accounting from Arizona State University
10in 1974; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Tom Tracy worked as an accountant after college
12before joining his family's company, Dot Foods; for nearly 40
13years, he contributed to the success of the family business in
14various roles, including as a member of the board of directors
15for 25 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Tom Tracy was a family man and enjoyed his time
17with his loved ones on the water at Lake of the Ozarks and in
18recent years at RT's Cove; he loved baseball, especially
19cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals; his other passion was
20flying airplanes, and he found great joy in taking his friends
21and family up in the skies with him; he passed his love for
22flying onto his son, Alex, who is also a pilot; and

1    WHEREAS, Tom Tracy was preceded in death by his parents;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Tom Tracy is survived by his wife of nearly 35
4years, Catherine M. "Kiddo" Tracy; his children, Alex,
5Micaela, and Clare; his future son-in-law, Daniel Kaufer; his
6grandchildren, Sawyer, Reagan, and Amelia; and his siblings,
7Donald (Wanda) Tracy, Patrick (Jane) Tracy, Anne (Ray)
8Capestrain, James (Jil) Tracy, Jean (Mike) Buckley, John
9(Linda) Tracy, Mary (Jay) Sullivan, Susan (Scott) Stamerjohn,
10Jane (Fred) Schmidt, Joseph (Jill) Tracy, and Richard (Adina)
11Tracy; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Thomas L. "Tom" Tracy and extend our sincere condolences to
15his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Tom Tracy as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
