SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Jeanne Betty (Fredman) Schwartz, who
4passed away on December 1, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeanne Schwartz was born on September 1, 1925;
6she attended the University of Texas at Austin and the
7American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Jeanne Schwartz played characters in the radio
9series John's Other Wife and Pretty Kitty Kelly; she was also a
10teacher at Bernard Horwich JCC and the owner of beauty salons
11in Illinois and Florida; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jeanne Schwartz was a civil rights leader,
13author, and disabilities advocate; she was also an incredible
14athlete, actress, teacher, and business woman; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jeanne Schwartz's greatest joy in life was her
16family, especially her dog, Otto, and her granddaughter,
17Natalie; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jeanne Schwartz was the beloved wife of Richard
19Jacob Schwartz for 43 wonderful years; the loving mother of
20Francine Joanne (Lawrence) Bober and Jody Anne Schwartz; the

1adored grandmother of Natalie Bober; the devoted daughter of
2the late Fannie Eichenberg Fredman and Benjamin Fredman; the
3dearly beloved sister of the late Shirley Debra Fredman and
4the late Harriett (Bennett) Fredman Levy; and the treasured
5aunt of Robert (Nita) Levy, Fran (Robert) Sachs, John (Janet)
6Levy, Joseph (Marita) Schwartz, Michael (Linda) Schwartz, Alan
7"Duke" (Robin) Schwartz, and Terry Schwartz; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Jeanne Betty (Fredman) Schwartz and extend our sincere
11condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12her; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Jeanne Schwartz as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
