| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 8, AS AMENDED, in | ||||||
| 3 | Section 5, immediately after the sentence that ends with | ||||||
| 4 | "kept.", by inserting "This Section does not apply (i) if the | ||||||
| 5 | minor, an at-risk person, or a prohibited person gains access | ||||||
| 6 | to a firearm and uses it in a lawful act of self-defense or | ||||||
| 7 | defense of another or (ii) to any firearm obtained by a minor, | ||||||
| 8 | an at-risk person, or a prohibited person because of an | ||||||
| 9 | unlawful entry of the premises by the minor, at-risk person, | ||||||
| 10 | prohibited person or another person."; and | ||||||
| 11 | in Section 90, Sec. 8, paragraph (v), after "(v) A person who | ||||||
| 12 | fails, by inserting "2 or more times"; and | ||||||
| 13 | in Section 90, Sec. 8.1, subsection (d-5), by deleting "The | ||||||
| 14 | Illinois State Police shall determine whether to revoke the | ||||||
| 15 | person's Firearm Owner's Identification Card under Section 8 | ||||||
| 16 | of this Act."; and | ||||||

| 1 | in Section 100, Sec. 5-20, subsection (b), paragraph (C), by | ||||||
| 2 | replacing "72" with "48 72"; and | ||||||
| 3 | in Section 105, Sec. 24-4.1, subsection (d), by deleting the | ||||||
| 4 | paragraph beginning "For a second or subsequent offense" and | ||||||
| 5 | ending "in subsection (c) of Section 10 of that Act."; and | ||||||
| 6 | in Section 110, immediately below the last line of Sec. 5-4-1, | ||||||
| 7 | by inserting the following: | ||||||
| 8 | "Section 997. Severability. The provisions of this Act are | ||||||
| 9 | severable under Section 1.31 of the Statute on Statutes.". | ||||||
