AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1082

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1082 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4     "Section 5. The Medical Patient Rights Act is amended by
5 adding Section 7 as follows:
 
6     (410 ILCS 50/7 new)
7     Sec. 7. Patient examination. Any physician, medical
8 student, resident, advanced practice nurse, registered nurse,
9 or physician assistant who provides treatment or care to a
10 patient shall inform the patient of his or her profession upon
11 providing the treatment or care, which includes but is not
12 limited to any physical examination, such as a pelvic
13 examination. In the case of an unconscious patient, any care or
14 treatment must be related to the patient's illness, condition,
15 or disease.
 
16     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
17 2004.".
