 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2902

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 2902 on page 3,  by
 3    replacing lines 26 through 31 with the following:
 4        "Any  person  who  knowingly  and  willfully violates any
 5    provision of this Section other than a second  or  subsequent
 6    violation  of transmitting a false report as described in the
 7    preceding paragraph, is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor for a
 8    first violation  and  a  Class  4  felony  for  a  second  or
 9    subsequent violation; except that if the person acted as part
10    of  a  plan  or scheme having as its object the prevention of
11    discovery  of  an  abused  or  neglected  child   by   lawful
12    authorities  for  the purpose of protecting or insulating any
13    person or entity from arrest or prosecution,  the  person  is
14    guilty  of a Class 4 felony for a first offense and a Class 3
15    felony for a second  or  subsequent  offense  (regardless  of
16    whether  the second or subsequent offense involves any of the
17    same facts or persons as the first or other prior offense).".
