 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3486

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 3486,  AS  AMENDED,
 3    with  reference  to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment
 4    No. 2, by replacing lines 31 through 33 on page 5 and line  1
 5    on page 6 with the following:
 6    "Domestic Violence Act of 1986, sexual assault, or"; and

 7    on  page  6,  by  replacing  lines  14  through  16  with the
 8    following:
 9    "or part-time basis, or as a participant in a"; and

10    on page  6,  by  replacing  lines  19  through  29  with  the
11    following:
12             "(10)  "Employer"  means  any  of the following: (A)
13        the State or any agency of the State;  (B)  any  unit  of
14        local  government  or  school district; or (C) any person
15        that employs at least 50 employees."; and

16    on  page  7,  by  replacing  lines  7  through  10  with  the
17    following:
18             "(12) "Family or household member" means  a  spouse,
19        parent,  son,  daughter,  and persons jointly residing in
20        the same household."; and

21    on page 8, by replacing lines 5 through 8 with the following:
22    "12-14.1, 12-15, and 12-16."; and

 1    on page  8,  by  replacing  lines  10  through  16  with  the
 2    following:
 3    "Criminal Code of 1961 in Sections 12-7.3 and 12-7.4."; and

 4    on page 9, by deleting lines 5 through 21; and

 5    on page 9, line 22 by changing "(4)" to "(2)"; and

 6    by  replacing  lines  30  through  34  on  page 9 and lines 1
 7    through 14 on page 10 with the following:
 8             "(3)  to  accomplish  the  purposes   described   in
 9        paragraphs  (1)  and (2) by entitling employed victims of
10        domestic or sexual violence to take unpaid leave to  seek
11        medical   help,   legal  assistance,  counseling,  safety
12        planning, and other assistance without penalty from their
13        employers."; and

14    on page 10, line 22 by inserting "unpaid" before "leave"; and

15    on page 12, by replacing lines 9 and 10 with the following:
16    "to the employer a sworn statement of the employee, and  upon
17    obtaining such documents the employee shall provide:"; and

18    on page 12, line 11 by changing "(B)" to "(A)"; and

19    on page 12, line 18 by changing "(C)" to "(B)"; and

20    on page 12, line 19 by changing "(D)" to "(C)"; and

21    on  page  17,  by  replacing  lines  24  through  26 with the
22    following:
23    "domestic or sexual violence;"; and

24    on page 22, by deleting lines 23 through 28; and

25    on page 22, line 29 by changing "(c)" to "(b)"; and

26    on page 22, line 31, by changing "15" to "30".
