 1        AN ACT making appropriations.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4                              ARTICLE 1

 5        Section 1.   The following  named  amounts,  or  so  much
 6    thereof  as  may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated
 7    for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Office of the
 8    State Fire Marshal, as follows:

10    Payable from the Fire Prevention Fund:

16        Section 2.  The sum of $450,000, or so  much  thereof  as
17    may  be  necessary,  is appropriated from the Fire Prevention
18    Fund  to  the  Office  of  the   State   Fire   Marshal   for
19    administrative expenses of the Elevator Safety and Regulation
20    Act.

21        Section  3.  The  sum  of $185,000, or so much thereof as
22    may  be  necessary,  is  appropriated   from   the   Illinois
23    Firefighters'  Memorial  Fund to the Office of the State Fire
24    Marshal for  expenses  related  to  the  maintenance  of  the
25    Illinois  Firefighters'  Memorial,  holding the annual Fallen
26    Firefighter and Firefighter Medal of  Honor  Ceremonies,  and
27    other expenses as allowed under Public Act 91-0832.

28        Section  4.  The  following  named  amounts,  or  so much
29    thereof as may be necessary, respectively,  are  appropriated
30    to the Office of the State Fire Marshal as follows:

 2      For Expenses of Fire Prevention
 3       Awareness Program............................       80,000

 8      For Expenses of the U.S. Resource
 9       Conservation and Recovery Act
10       Underground Storage Program..................      186,000

12    Payable from the Emergency Response
13      Reimbursement Fund:
14      For Hazardous Material Emergency
15       Response Reimbursement ............................$ 5,000

16        Section  5.   The  following  named  amounts,  or so much
17    thereof as may be necessary, respectively,  are  appropriated
18    for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Office of the
19    State Fire Marshal, as follows:
20                               GRANTS
21    Payable from the Fire Prevention Fund:
22      For Chicago Fire Department Training Program   $  1,397,100
23      For payment to local governmental agencies
24       which participate in the State Training
25       Programs.....................................      350,000
26      For Regional Training Grants .................      150,000
27        Total                                          $1,897,100

28        Section  6.   The  sum of $550,000, or so much thereof as
29    may  be  necessary,  is  appropriated  from  the  Underground
30    Storage Tank Fund to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for
31    a grant to the  City  of  Chicago  for  Administrative  Costs

 1    incurred  as  a  result  of  the  State's Underground Storage
 2    Program.

 3        Section 7.   The sum of $2,000, or so much thereof as may
 4    be necessary, is appropriated from the Fire  Prevention  Fund
 5    to  the Office of the State Fire Marshal for grants available
 6    for the development of new fire districts.

 7        Section 99.  Effective date.  This Act  takes  effect  on
 8    July 1, 2003.
