SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
50 ILCS 105/1.3

    Amends the Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act. Provides that an alderman of any city or a member of the board of trustees of any village or incorporated town (instead of a city, village, or incorporated town with fewer than 2,500 inhabitants) may also hold the office of member of the board of education, regional board of school trustees, board of school directors, or board of school inspectors. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning public officials.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act is
5 amended by changing Section 1.3 as follows:
 
6     (50 ILCS 105/1.3)
7     Sec. 1.3. Municipal board member; education office. In a
8 city, village, or incorporated town with fewer than 2,500
9 inhabitants, An alderman of a the city or a member of the board
10 of trustees of a village or incorporated town, during the term
11 of office for which he or she is elected, may also hold the
12 office of member of the board of education, regional board of
13 school trustees, board of school directors, or board of school
14 inspectors.

16     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17 becoming law.
