 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  wish to express their sincere condolences to
 4    the family and friends of Lee J.  Schwartz  who  passed  away
 5    last year; and

 6        WHEREAS, Lee Schwartz served on the staff of the Illinois
 7    House  of Representatives, acting as legal advisor to Speaker
 8    of the House  Jack Touhy, and also served on the staff of the
 9    Illinois Senate under the direction of Minority Leader Thomas
10    Arthur McGloon; and

11        WHEREAS, Lee Schwartz provided legal counsel for  Chicago
12    Mayors   Richard  J.  Daley,  Michael  Bilandic,  and  Harold
13    Washington; and

14        WHEREAS, Lee's wit  and  wisdom  were  hallmarks  of  his
15    character  that  endeared him to his legion of friends in the
16    State Capitol, City Hall, and within the legal community; and

17        WHEREAS, Lee's superior intellect made  him  the  fastest
18    crossword puzzle solver in the State; and

19        WHEREAS,  Lee  was  an expert in constitutional law and a
20    recognized authority on the artful crafting  of  legislation;
21    and

22        WHEREAS, Lee's love for his children made him a model for
23    fathers  everywhere  and  his pride in them made him light up
24    with joy; and

25        WHEREAS, The passing of Lee J. Schwartz will be  felt  by
26    all  who  knew him, especially his wife, Nancy; his children,
27    David and Alexander; his sister, Joan; his brother, Gary; and
28    his friends and colleagues; therefore, be it

29        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
30    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

 1    we mourn, along with all who knew him, the death  of  Lee  J.
 2    Schwartz; and be it further

 3        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 4    presented to the family of Lee J. Schwartz as  an  expression
 5    of our deepest sympathy.
