HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, St. Rita of Cascia High School is an Augustinian
3 College Prep School located in Chicago; and
 
4     WHEREAS, St. Rita High School was founded in 1905 by the
5 Very Reverend James F. Green; the school kicked off its
6 yearlong 100th anniversary celebration in March 2004; and
 
7     WHEREAS, St. Rita has been named an "Outstanding High
8 School" by United States News and World Report and has been
9 recognized as an Exemplary School by the United States
10 Department of Education; and
 
11     WHEREAS, St. Rita High School is the home of the wrestling
12 Mustangs who won the 2004 Class AA Dual-Team State Championship
13 on February 28, 2004, in Moline against the Providence Catholic
14 Celtics of New Lenox, 27-22; and
 
15     WHEREAS, St. Rita also defeated Providence Catholic,
16 24-20, for the 2003 Class AA Dual-Team State Championship; and
 
17     WHEREAS, St. Rita High School Principal is Father Thomas
18 McCarthy, OSA; its Athletic Director is John Bonk; the High
19 School Wrestling Coach is Dan Carroll; and the Assistant Coach
20 is Ryan Egan; and
 
21     WHEREAS, The 2004 St. Rita High School Championship
22 Wrestling Team members are John Starzyk, Adam Canty, Brian
23 Earner, Carlos Lopez, Mike Sands, Albert White, Gerry Starzyk,
24 Bill Cascone, Obie Simpson, Brett Wolniakowski, John Murphy,
25 Scott Sands, Brendan McElligott, Freddie DeRamus, Brian Carey,
26 Brian Magat, Mike Cannon, Kevin Lally, Leo Krystof, Alan Lick,
27 and Neal Burnett; therefore, be it
 
28     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
2 congratulate the St. Rita High School Mustangs on winning the
3 2004 Class AA Dual-Team State Championship and wish the team
4 well in all its future endeavors; and be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to St. Rita's Principal Father McCarthy, Athletic
7 Director John Bonk, Wrestling Coach Dan Carroll, and Assistant
8 Coach Ryan Egan as a token of our esteem.
